System requirements for the TerraExplorer:

The presentation is available for interested persons on web sites of the Moravian-Silesian region and in competent information centres.

The goal of the project is to build a presentation application which will serve to the publicity of the tourism potencial of the whole Region. A user is enabled, by means of the Internet, to experience a virtual interactive transit above a landscape of the Moravian-Silesian region covered by the orthophotomap. This presentation is focusing on a publicity of cycle routes, support of balneology, publicity of selected locations and tourist attractions (museums, cultural sights, tourist centres etc.)

Specific Goals of the Project

• To improve a publicity of the travel industry in the Region.
• To increase awareness of potentional visitors of the Region, to ncrease its attractiveness.
• To improve the level of travel industry facilities and services.
• To support a development and publicity of cycle routes, travel routes, hiporoutes and nature trails in the Moravian-Silesian region.
• By highlighting of various attractive places to support increasing of the level of provided services in the travel movement and their subsequent usage.
• To improve in total the utilization of the Region´s tourist potential and its various establishments.
• To support a balneology in the Region.
• By the help of the established information system to reach a better share of the travel industry on the economical welfare of the Region, with aim to increase investments into the development of the travel industry and to create new working positions.
• To support a tourist season extension.
