The Native House of J. G. Mendel in Hynčice
He was steered toward the study of heredity through his effort to help the monks of the monastery with crossing various plants. As a physicist, he sought simple and clear rules which could be mathematically expressed. Mendel decided to observe the properties which only occur in two different states and presented his results in 1865. They were understood as late as 1900, when they were re-discovered.
