Fryštát v Karviné Chateau

During the tour of the chateau interiors in the main building of the Fryštát Chateau you will be attracted by illusive Classicist decorations of the walls and ceilings which brings about the atmosphere of ancient Greek and Rome. Individual rooms were named after their main characteristic or designation such as a Music Saloon, a Pink Saloon, a Small Office, an Oriental Saloon, a Ladies´ Boudoir, etc. An interesting set of Baroque engravings with hunting motifs is placed in the saloons. You can see Vienna and Meissen China porcelain there including porcelain products from other manufacturers. Rare paintings are supplemented by important family portraits of the family of Larisch-Mönnichs. Extraordinary artistic works also include Flemish tapestries from the 17th and the 18th century and particularly a Gobelin tapestry Dedication to Gods and Dying Adonis according to P.P. Rubens or handmade woven carpets.
