Fryštát v Karviné Chateau
Fryštát v Karviné Empire Chateau, an important mansion of the Larisch-Mönichs was reconstructed and open to the public in 1997. It was formed by rebuilding a Renaissance chateau refurbished in the Baroque style, whose precursor was a Gothic castle from the 14th century founded by the famous family of Těšín Piastovec. By the last refurbishment in 1800 in the pure Empire style the chateau gained a new important position and became an elegant residence. The chateau is surrounded by a natural landscape park with many rare wooden species on the southern side. Regular trips in a historical carriage drawn by a team of horses are held there every year from May to October.
