Hradec nad Moravicí Chateau
The importance of the Hradec promontory was given in particular by the strategically favourable terrain formation offering a safe refuge. This is also the reason why the then Slavonic fortification of the 8th century was replaced by a counts´ castle of the Přemyslovec family in the middle of the 11th century and rebuilt to an exclusive castle protected by a profound fortification by the King Přemysl Otakar II two centuries later. Since the beginning of the 16th century, the Czech kings put the local goods to pledge. The last lien owner was Kašpar Pruskovský of Pruskov, who gained it to his inheritable property in 1585 and who at the same time began the Renaissance refurbishment of the medieval castle to a comfortably equipped mansion with a pleasure garden and a forest park.
